belt is. The abdomen pushes outward against the belt; the belt either gives or
it does not; and what decides that is depth of material, not width of material.

without thickness describes how much of the torso is covered — not how much
support is there.
Six millimetres is the entry grade for a serious leather belt. Ten and thirteen
millimetres exist above it and are stiffer, harder to break in, and required by
