The best agility ladders for 2026

An agility ladder is flat webbing with rungs, laid on the ground for footwork drills. Almost everything about it is a dimension. Length and rung count go together — 4 m with 8 rungs and 6 m with 12 are the common configurations, and a longer ladder simply gives more repetitions per pass. Rung spacing is the figure that matters for the drill and it is where the designs differ: fixed rungs are sewn in place and always correct; adjustable rungs slide along the webbing, which lets the spacing be set for a child or a sprinter and also lets them creep out of position during a session. Which behaviour is wanted depends entirely on who is using it. The rung material is plastic on essentially all of them, and what varies is the thickness and whether the edge is chamfered — a thick square-edged rung is the one that gets caught by a toe, which is the failure mode this product has. The webbing width decides whether the ladder lies flat on grass. Ground pegs are supplied with some and are the difference between a ladder that stays put on grass and one that walks; they are useless on a hard floor, where weight and friction are all there is. And the bag, which on this shelf is not a nicety — a ladder that cannot be rolled and carried is a ladder that lives tangled.
