Vibration
The only product on this shelf that can signal without a sound.
That is the feature, and it is worth being clear about why. A person mid-set
has their eyes on the bar and often music in their ears. A beep in a loud gym
is missed; a beep at 6 a.m. in a flat wakes somebody.
A vibration on a belt clip is felt, every time, by one person.
Two intervals, ninety-nine rounds
Work and rest as separate lengths, alternating on their own.
Four products in this family count down once and stop. This runs the whole
session — forty seconds on, twenty off, twenty rounds — without being touched
after the start, and tells you when the rounds are finished.
That is the difference between a timer you operate and a timer that operates
the session.
One, two, five or nine seconds
The alarm length, selectable.
A one-second beep gets lost in a busy room. A nine-second one at the end of
every round becomes unbearable. Letting the user choose is a small thing that
makes the device usable in more than one room.
Left off the listing
The power source. On a device that vibrates — which draws far more than a
display — the battery type and life are the two figures a buyer would want, and
neither is given.
The display dimension. “The size of a small pager” describes the body, not
the screen, and a screen that small cannot be read from across a room. The LED
panel elsewhere in this family exists for exactly that job.

The American and British Amazon stores carry it too, priced in local currency — which the euro range above leaves out on purpose.
