Forty-five, forty-six, and eighteen
The title says 45 cm. The bullets say 18 inches, or 46 cm.
Eighteen inches is 45.72 cm. The title rounds down, the bullets round up,
and both describe the same wrap. The inch figure is the one that resolves it,
and it is published.
This is worth following across the shelf: the Gymreapers here publishes the
same 18 inches as 45.7 cm. Two listings in this family publish this
length, and between them it is written three different ways.
What the length is for
Turns around the wrist.
A wrap is wound, not worn. Eighteen inches gives several turns on most wrists —
enough to build real support, short enough that the wrap does not run out onto
the hand and restrict the joint it is supposed to stabilise.
The thumb loop
It holds the wrap still while it is being wound.
Without one the first turn unwinds before the closure is fastened, one-handed,
with the other hand inside the wrap. That is the whole job, and it is done
before the set starts — the loop comes off the thumb once the wrap is tight,
because leaving it on pulls the thumb under load.
Three of the five wraps on this shelf have one; two publish nothing about it.
What the listing spends itself on
Three of the six bullets are lists of search terms — the same product named
thirty different ways.
That is a fact about the listing rather than the product, and it is why the
specification here is thinner than the length of the page suggests.
Left off the listing
The width, which decides how much of the forearm the wrap covers.
Any stiffness grade. The closure is adjustable; the fabric’s own firmness
is not described.
