mode of a floor under strength equipment. A rack does not lie on the floor — it
stands on four feet of a few square centimetres, and its whole loaded mass goes
through them.

Rubber against foam
Compacted SBR granulate.
Denser than foam, heavier, and it holds its shape. It is also harder underfoot
and heavier to lay — a tile floor of rubber is a job, where foam tiles are
carried in one hand.
The weight is also the feature: the maker names the tiles’ own mass as what
stops them travelling. Foam tiles slide.

A two-metre square platform is four square metres, which is three sets. The
individual tile size is not published, so the planning has to be done on set
area rather than on a grid.
